En aval du lacu Rosu se trouvent les gorges Bicaz. Nous avons donc décidé d'y aller à pied (4 km de marche et autant au retour). Near the lacu Rosu is the Bicaz canyon. We thus decided to go there by foot (4 km of walk to go and another 4 km to return).
Notre promenade progresse dans un décor d'apocalypse. Les infrastructures routières semblent avoir été abandonnées depuis les années 60 (en plein parc national!): les glissières de sécurité de la route sont complètement rouillées, parfois tombées dans la rivière, les murets de sécurité également (il faut conduire prudemment) et de nombreuses maisons sont en ruine... Globalement, la région de Harghita doit composer avec une voirie désastreuse, les aménagements urbains à Lazarea ont plus de 40 ans, les trottoirs en bétons se désagrègent... Il semble que les touristes parcourent une région presque abandonnée financièrement par l'État roumain (alors que d'autres ont été visiblement bien réaménagées depuis les 10 dernières années). Pourtant, Harghita représente une vitrine touristique incontestable pour le pays... Our walk progresses in an apocalypse landscape. The road infrastructures seem to have been abandoned since the Sixties (in a national park!): the safety fences of the road are completely rusted, sometimes fallen in the river, the low walls of safety too (it is necessary to drive prudently) and many houses are in ruin… All in all, the area of Harghita must compose with a disastrous roadway system, the urban developments in Lazarea for exemple have more than 40 years, the pavements disaggregate… It seems that the tourists are an area almost financially abandoned by the Rumanian State (whereas others have been obviously well refitted for the 10 last years). However, Harghita represents an undeniable beautiful tourist window for the country…
Les gorges Bicaz sont spectaculaires à voir. C'est un véritable canyon. La route parcourt ce paysage avec difficulté, se tortillant dans tous les sens, parfois empruntant un tunnel (seul aménagement neuf de la région - celui sur la photo ci-dessous est l'ancien que l'on peut traverser à pied). Ces rochers abruptes sont propices à la pratique de l'escalade. La rivière devient torrentielle par moments (les touristes devraient davantage respecter ce lieu en ne jetant pas leurs déchets n'importe où!). The Bicaz canyon is spectacular to see. The road course this landscape with difficulty, twisting itself in all the directions, sometimes borrowing a tunnel (only new built of the area - the one on the photograph below is the old that we can traverse). These abrupt rocks are favourable to the practice of the climbing. The river becomes torrential per moments (the tourists should more respect this place by not throwing their waste anywhere!).

Bref, cette promenade a évolué dans un décor d'exception, un peu surnaturel par moments et empli de contrastes. Le potentiel touristique de ces gorges est énorme, il faut espérer qu'il soit mieux valorisé prochainement. In short, this walk evolved in a landscape of exception, a little supernatural by moments and filled up contrasts. The tourist potential of this canyon is enormous, it should be hoped that it will be better developed soon.
