Phare de la Coubre

Le phare de la Coubre est situé à l'extrémité nord de l'estuaire de la Gironde. Construit en 1905, il a une hauteur de 64m. A l'origine, il était à 1.5 km / 2km du rivage, mais en raison de l'érosion de la côte, il ne se trouve plus qu'à 250 de l'océan de nos jours. La lampe avec son système de lentille a une portée de 50 km (environ). Il faut gravir 300 marches pour accéder jusqu'à elle et bénéficier d'une vue superbe sur l'océan, La Palmyre (Bonne Anse) et la forêt de la Coubre. L'intérieur du phare est recouvert d'opaline bleue.

C'est une visite sportive mais nous sommes récompensés par la vue. Le phare mériterait d'être restauré car de nombreuses fissures sont visibles entre les carreaux d'opaline.
