Le phare de Chassiron, désormais géré d'un point de vue touristique par la commune de Saint-Denis d'Oléron (d'un point de vue technique par l'État). Le phare actuel date de 1834. Les trois bandes noires ont été ajoutées en 1926 pour le différencier du phare des Baleines (à la pointe ouest de l'Île de Ré). Il n'y a plus de gardien depuis 1998. The lighthouse of Chassiron is now managed from a tourist point of view by the municipality of Saint-Denis d'Oléron (from a technical point of view by the state). The lighthouse dates from 1834. The three black stripes were added in 1926 to differentiate it from lighthouse "des Baleines" (at the western tip of the island of Ré). There is no keeper since 1998.
Son faisceau lumineux est visible à plus de 52 kilomètres (par temps clair). The beam is visible over 52 km (by clear weather).

La vue au sommet du phare est magistrale (après avoir gravit les 224 marches de l'édifice), nous sommes à 43 mètres du sol. The view atop the lighthouse is masterful (after climbing the 224 steps of the building), we are at 43 meters above the ground.
