Après quelques semaines d'interruptions dues au passage annuel d'un concours de la fonction publique, voici quelques photos de l'abbaye d'Aigues-vives ou Aiguevive (l'orthographe du nom est variable) et plus précisément de l'église abbatiale Notre-Dame (les photos ont donc été prises à la mi-février, d'où la présence de neige et de glace). Here are some pictures of the Aigues-vives (or Aiguevive) abbey and more specifically of the Notre-Dame abbey church (the photos were taken in mid-February, under the snow and ice).Ce site est localisé sur la commune de Faverolles-sur-Cher, au sud de la ville de Montrichard, dans le département du Loir-et-Cher. This site is located on near Faverolles-sur-Cher, in the southern of the city of Montrichard, in the French department of Loir-et-Cher.
L'abbaye est du XIIème siècle (1147). Il n'est pas aisé de trouver des renseignements sur elle. D'après le site Culture.fr, il se trouvait ici un monastère de chanoines réguliers de Saint-Augustin. The abbey is from the twelfth century (1147). It is not easy to find information on it. According to the Culture.fr website (in French), there was a monastery of regular canons of St. Augustine.
L'édifice, en partie en ruines, n'a plus de toit, ni de voute, a été foudroyé, sachant que la Révolution avait commencé ce travail de destruction (à ce jour stoppé). Il n'est donc pas possible de voir l'intérieur de cette imposante église... The building, partly in ruins, has no roof, no vault, has been struck, knowing that the Revolution had begun this work of destruction (currently stopped). So, itis not possible to see the interior of this imposing church...
Pourtant le portail est magnifique. Nervertheless, the portal is beautiful.
Nous pouvons deviner que l'intérieur possède également des décorations et sculptures soignées, tels les chapiteaux sur la troisième photo ci-dessous. We can guess that the interior has also superb sculptures and decorations such as capitals on the third photo below.
Un château bien blotti derrière des arbres et cette source sont voisins de l'abbaye. Neighbors of the abbey, a castle is well tucked behind numerous trees and there is this source.
